Who is a Juvenile? Can they be tried as adults?

Juveniles are those children who are below 18 and have committed a crime.
The Juvenile Justice Act of 2015 provided for trying juveniles in the age group of 16-18 as adults in cases of heinous offences.

After this under Section 18 (3) of the Juvenile Justice Act: If the Juvenile Justice Board(JJB), after preliminary assessment, passes an order that there is a need for trial of the said child as an adult, then the JJB may order the transfer of the case to the Children’s Court. Where they are tried as adults.
